The Robertson Red Tartan
The Clan Robertson name came from Robert Riach or Grizzled Robert, who in 1437, captured the murderers of King James I. His reward, in 1451, was the Barony of Struan.
In around 1815, elders of the clan were unable to decide on the true Robertson Tartan: as a result, Alexander Robertson of Struan adopted the Atholl tartan for his own use.
