This design was inspired by a photo of a mullein plant.
The background leaves are comprised of corduroy and upholstery fabrics, embellished with narrow ribbon, seed beads, and free motion machine quilting.
The centre of the mullein is 3-dimensional with the individual leaves created separately from Berber fleece and upholstery fabric, then attached to the background. The large front leaf is hand embroidered and accented with seed beads.
